Club wrap up Peterborough man Scarff as new head.
Kieran links up with former colleagues Darren Ferguson and Gavin Strachan whom he worked with at Peterborough United in their roles of First Team Manager and Youth Team Manager respectively.
With vast coaching experience on his CV – through tutoring players of different ages and different abilities – Kieran will prove to be a valuable asset to the Rovers Academy of which 12 players have progressed through to make their first team debut in the last 6 years.
“I’ve been at Peterborough for 7 years and had various jobs with them there; head of coaching and academy manager so there’s an obvious connection with the manager here and Gavin Strachan and to be honest when the opportunity came to team up with them again it was too good to turn down,” he said.
“I know how they work and we’ve got a first team manager and a first team staff that are very demanding of the academy in the right way because they want us to produce players for the first team and this football club and that’s great, that’s the sort of pressure we want.
“From what I’ve seen, there’s definitely some potential here. The gaffer has already involved some youngster in pre-season and been impressed with them. The plans that the club has for the academy are very exciting.”
