Club Doncaster Sports College students are celebrating outstanding results for the academic year 2015/16.

Club Doncaster Sports College students are celebrating outstanding results for the academic year 2015/16. Across BTEC Level 3 and Active IQ Level 2 programmes 100% of learners who completed, passed their qualifications.

This represents another excellent year for Club Doncaster Sports College who moved into their new premises in the Donasonic Stand back in October.

This allowed the college to increase numbers up to 121 ensuring there is wide ranging, high quality provision for 16-18 year olds in the area here at the Keepmoat Stadium, in partnership with Selby College.

With these results, BTEC Level 3 students have enjoyed 100% positive progressions into employment, training and higher education, with 63% of them progressing onto university courses.   Three of these students have been offered Apprenticeships here at Club Doncaster Foundation.

Two students, Lewis Heptinstall-Shutt and Matthew Tuck found themselves in the top 1.7% of learners in the country, achieving D*D*D which is the equivalent to A*A*A at A Level.

Active IQ L2 students enjoyed excellent success in 2015/16 with 100% pass rate, meaning all completing learners achieved a nationally recognised qualification, with all first years becoming qualified Gym Instructors and all second year leavers becoming qualified Personal Trainers.

On top of this many students were able to resit English and Maths qualifications successfully and gain work experience across the club and its partners.

Alongside the academic programmes students represent Doncaster Rovers and the Dons in national college leagues in football and rugby league. Unsurprisingly 97% of students said they were satisfied with their course in learner feedback surveys!

Adi Turnpenny, Principal of Club Doncaster Sports College, said: "We are extremely proud of the courses we offer here and are delighted that we have again broken previous records for students studying with us. These results are a credit to our students and the staff that support them so well.

“Club Doncaster Sports College continues to set the standards and is one of the best places for young people to study sport in the region. With increased numbers in FE, the introduction of HE and a Girls Football Academy for next year there is much to look forward to.

“I’d like to wish all graduates the best of luck in the future and we look forward to welcoming our new students in September.”

We will be recruiting for academic year 17/18 from September - more details are available on our website www.clubdoncastersportscollege.co.uk or by calling 01302 764663.
