Let's Wright Wrongs

Defender desperate for Rovers to get off the mark.

Joe Wright fully expects that he and his Doncaster Rovers teammates will chalk up their first win of the campaign on Saturday when Crawley Town visit Keepmoat Stadium.

The young defender has admitted that there could be pressure on Rovers if they don’t perform as expected over the next two home games.

“It would put pressure on us (if Rovers were to lose) but no one has thought like that,” he said.

“We’re more than confident that we’re going to get the win if we play like we have been, we just need to brush up on certain things and we’ll be fine.

“If we can get two results that gets the fans on board which means more people will come. If we play like we have been then we’ll get the results and we’ll build from there.”

The visiting side have taken four points from a possible six on their two visits to Doncaster previously and called for patience if things don’t immediately click.

“We’re a big scalp in this division,” he admitted.

“We’ve got to be patient ourselves, we know teams might sit off us more than others, be patient, not get frustrated and stick to the gameplan.

“Its not so much parking the bus but they’ll sit off more and try and hit us on the counter. No disrespect to them but they wont have anything to lose. The pressure is on us and its up to us to thrive on that.
“My pre-season didn’t really go to plan, I’ve still got a little niggle but its about getting through it. I’ve just got to manage it and it should be fine.

“I always give it 100%, that’s something I’ve always done whether its Sunday league with my mates or out there. I’ll give it my all and stay focussed on my game and do the best I can.”
