Foundation Friday: girls academy

9 December 2016

Dramatic opener for Ladies Academy side

Club Doncaster Sports College hosted their first College Women’s League fixture recently as the college continues to make great strides on and off the field.

Completely turning the game on its head, the girls managed to bounce back from 5-1 down to draw 5-5!

The Ladies Academy runs alongside the College’s three male Football Academy teams and the Dons Rugby Academy.  These academies support the college’s outstanding education provision.

A range of vocational sports courses are offered at the college, all which are delivered in state of the art facilities – providing great opportunities to study and play at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Ladies Football Academy coach Eric Randerson said: “We are delighted to now be able to offer a ladies team in our Academy as we continue to encourage more of our female students to become involved in football.”

Club Doncaster student Charlotte Hewitt added: “It’s really enjoyable to be part of the team and great to accompany our studies with competitive sport.”

Club Doncaster Sports College partners Selby College have recently been awarded the accolade of highest performing college in the region and joint second overall in the national college league tables.

The Sports College has contributed to this commendable achievement, which was measured in four key criteria: learner satisfaction, employer satisfaction, destination data into sustainable jobs and adult apprenticeship delivery.

Applications for study in the 2017/2018 academic year are now being processed via www.clubdoncastersportscollege.co.uk. To showcase their facilities and courses, the College are hosting an open evening on Monday December 19.

The open evening will run from 5-7pm at the Keepmoat Stadium, East Stand conference and hospitality entrance - which is free to drop in whenever convenient.
