Ferguson pre-Millwall

26 February 2016

Manager seeking much needed win against Millwall.

Darren Ferguson said that he is searching for the win that will not only bring an end to a four game losing streak but act as the catalyst for a change in fortunes.

Rovers have been defeated by just one goal in the last four outings and the Scot said the side has enough quality to match high flying Millwall.

"There's still more than enough quality to start winning games again," said Ferguson.

"We've got to get out of the habit of losing games, that’s the obvious thing to say and the players are fully aware of that and the responsibility that we've got to turn the results around but I’m fully confident that I’ve got a group of players who can do that.

"In a month we've gone from really flying and the positivity around the place was fantastic - the players were buzzing, looking forward to the next game and thinking they couldn’t be beat - to almost the opposite."

The Scot, who saw his side succumb 2-0 to the Lions at the New Den in October, admitted that Neil Harris's side will cause problems and that Rovers are in a battle.

"It is (a tough test), they've won their last five away," Ferguson noted.

"They’re very good at what they do, they have a good shape about them and two strikers that are in form so it doesn’t get any easier - it will be a tough, tough game.

"I think the situation is clear and you'd have to say that we are (aware of the threat of relegation). If you look at the league table then there's not much in it but obviously I feel confident that that won’t be the case.

"I’m not going to ignore it, it's been touched upon to the players that we can't be ignoring certain things like that but I know we've just got to take care of ourselves.

"I’ve had good chats with them individually and together this week that we're all saying the same thing and that's to get one result which we feel will kick us on again."
