PREVIEW: DRFC v Walsall

1 February 2016

Tuesday 2nd February 2016 (7.45pm), Sky Bet League One, Keepmoat Stadium.

Doncaster Rovers return to action on Tuesday evening when they host promotion chasing Walsall and you can be there to see the game for as little as £15 as part of our ‘Voucher A’ scheme.

The Saddlers are now under the tutelage of former Rovers manager Sean O’Driscoll who will take to the opposition dugout at Keepmoat Stadium for the very first time since his departure in 2012.

O’Driscoll, who saw his side crumble 4-0 to Reading at the weekend in the FA Cup 4th round, departed Doncaster having won the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and promotion in 2008 via the League One play offs.

His opposite number Darren Ferguson will be hoping that Rovers now feel the benefits of a week’s rest and they can react in a positive way to last week’s defeat against Port Vale; their third loss in their last four home games.

It’s nearly a decade since Rovers defeated the Saddlers at home; James Coppinger’s solitary strike on the stroke of half time securing three points at Belle Vue for Dave Penney’s side.

Since then, the Midlands club have held the upper hand and have won 5 out of the last 7 meetings between the pair, including a current run of four straight wins; the latest coming in September at Banks’s Stadium.

Tom Bradshaw hit two late goals to consign Rovers to defeat under caretaker boss Rob Jones.

TEAM NEWS: Rovers are sweating on the fitness of goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckmann while Andy Butler remains unlikely to face his former club. Harry Middleton, Cameron Stewart and Nathan Tyson remain doubts.
