Saturday 6th February 2016 (3pm), Sky Bet League One, Glanford Park.
Darren Ferguson’s Rovers make the short journey along the M18 to face managerless Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park on Saturday; a venue which has seen Doncaster win on three of their last four outings.Rovers – looking to avoid being the victims of a league double against the Iron – would leapfrog their opponents in the Sky Bet League One table with victory as they look to avenge Boxing Day heartache where they lost 1-0 to their visitors.
United, then under the stewardship of Mark Robins, had Paddy Madden’s first half strike to thank for separating the two sides in their 60th meeting in all competitions.
Doncaster significantly hold the historical record though with 24 wins to Scunthorpe’s 16 over the last 50 years.
Rovers will look to take comfort in their away record – unbeaten since late October – which contrasts severely with their home record which has seen them lose on three of their last four games at Keepmoat Stadium, the latest of which came in a 2-1 loss to Walsall on Tuesday evening.
TEAM NEWS: Andy Butler could return to face his former club while Nathan Tyson is rated as ‘touch and go’. Thorsten Stuckmann and Conor Grant look to remain sidelined however.
