New Sunderland loanee says he hopes to bring "quality and goals" to Darren Ferguson's side."I’m really happy to get out on loan and get some more games under my belt," said the American forward after signing on loan this morning.
The youngster has been playing at Sunderland since Under 16 level and has worked his way up to the Under 21's where he has played most of his games this season.
"Being around experienced players who play in the Premier League week in week out has made me develop really well. Both the players and the staff have been really good in helping me progress and I just want to bring quality to Doncaster."
Gooch was awarded the Barclays Premier League Under 21 Player of the Month back in August and his good form was rewarded when he made his professional debut for Sunderland in the Capital One Cup.
"It was an amazing experience," Gooch said, speaking about his debut.
"I’ve been at Sunderland a good few years now so to make my debut was just a dream come true. I didn’t feel out of place, it just felt natural so hopefully I can keep that going here at Doncaster. The manager told me to go out and enjoy it which is what I did. That’s all I can do and that’s what I’m hoping to do here, just enjoy playing football!
"I like to play in the number 10 role just behind the main striker, I hope I can bring quality to the team with lots of goals, that’s what my game is.
"I’m really excited at the potential of making my Football League debut on Saturday, I can’t wait."
