Lynden Gooch Signs

21 January 2016

Doncaster Rovers have today signed promising youngster Lynden Gooch from Sunderland on a one month loan deal.

The 20 year old striker has been with Sunderland since 2012, having moved over from America to join the Black Cats at 16 years of age.

Since joining Sunderland he has worked his way through the Under 18 side and is now a regular feature in the Under 21’s.

Gooch impressed for the North East side, scoring three goals in his first three appearances for the Under 21 team. His good form led to him being awarded the Barclays Under 21 Premier League Player of the Month for September.

He got his reward and was handed his professional debut for Sunderland back in August when they played Exeter City in the Capital One Cup. Gooch also made the bench for Sunderland’s Barclays Premier League clash against Aston Villa earlier in the season.

The American forward has also played international football for the USA at Under 23 level and will go straight into Saturday’s squad that travel to Fleetwood. Tickets are available here.

You can hear from Lynden Gooch with an exclusive interview on Rovers Player later today.

Darren Ferguson's side are back at the Keepmoat on Tuesday night as we take on Port Vale. To buy your tickets for the game click here.
