Rovers to Showcase Portraits

17 January 2016

Exhibition available over the next six weeks at Doncaster museum.

From 9th January until 20th February, Doncaster Museum and Art Gallery at Chequer Road, Doncaster DN1 2AE will be opening up its doors to a unique exhibition of footballing artwork showing many Doncaster Rovers players, management and staff from over the last 18 months.

Pictures on display will include Rovers’ legend James Coppinger, Nathan Tyson, Thorsten Stuckmann and “Made In Doncaster” youngsters Mitchell Lund, Harry Middleton and the McKay brothers. There will be other portraits on show including the current first team manager Darren Ferguson and his staff.

Artist Barbara Melvin said: “There are around 40 pictures in total, all of which have been individually signed by the players and the managers so they are certainly a unique offering. I am hoping that many Rovers fans come to see the portraits of our local footballers and enjoy my art work too. I would like to thank Doncaster Museum and Art Gallery for allowing me to exhibit and the staff and players of the club for permitting me to draw them.”
