Stewart: On The Up

15 January 2016

Cameron Stewart speaks of his delight to be back at Doncaster Rovers and says there is a good feel about the place.

Earlier this morning Stewart extended his loan after originally signing back in August, and has agreed to play his football at Rovers for the rest of the season.

“I’m pleased to be back,” he said. "I want to be playing football so the sooner I could get it done the better. It’s been a quick turnaround so hopefully I can get some more games in me now.

“I’ve been here at Doncaster earlier in the season, I’ve enjoyed myself and I really wanted to come back here so I was delighted when the gaffer gave me a call to sort it out.

Stewart’s most memorable goal in a Rovers shirt will be his 92nd minute equaliser against Crewe, a game Rovers went on to win 3-2.

“Results have really started to pick up now and theres a good feel about the place; not just with the way the boys are playing but there are smiles on peoples faces, including both the players and the fans.

“My aim now is just to start a few more games. I’ve come off the bench quite a lot and tried to have an impact on the games which I think I’ve done. It’s important we carry on as we have a continue to push up the league now.”

Darren Ferguson declared yesterday afternoon in his pre-match press conference that Cameron will be available for Saturday’s match against Gillingham. To purchase your tickets click here or call on 01302 762576.
