Williams - "Hitting form"

8 January 2016

Andy Williams speaks of his delight with winning the League One player of the month award after a “tough month” of football.

“I’m delighted,” he said.

“It's a very nice end to a tough month and it's nice to get a reward for my good form.”

Williams has scored 10 goals in his last 12 matches for Rovers, most recently against Southend United, taking his tally to 13 for the season.

“It’s great to be scoring goals, especially after the start that I had, it’s nice to hit form at the right time. I’m slowly climbing up the goalscoring table and as a team lately we have been doing a lot better, that’s helped my form massively."

"Everyone is working hard and the players want to turn the club around after the disappointing start we had."

“I dedicate every goal I score to my wife and little boy to let them know I’m thinking about them. It gets me a few brownie points when I get home too!"

Williams has quickly become a fan favourite at the Keepmoat and he was quick to praise the fans and thank them for their support.

“The fans have been amazing,” he said.

"It’s nice to hear them sing about me every week. Obviously the song is related to Andy Williams the singer and it’s great, they sing it really well! It’s great to hear it every game."
