“You Never Know”

8 January 2016

Midfielder Paul Keegan’s message ahead of Third Round tie with Premier League Stoke City.

Returning stalwart Paul Keegan has said that Rovers have nothing to fear when they entertain Mark Hughes’ top flight Potters at Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday.

The hosts have seen off non league Stalybridge Celtic and League 2 Cambridge United to get to this stage; for the ninth time in eleven seasons.

“We’re looking to get something out of the game and put a good performance in and show people what we can do, you never know we can catch someone out,” asserted the 31 year old.

“You never know. We know its going to be a tough game and they’ll be the favourites to win but we won’t be intimidated or nervous.

“We’re just looking forward to the game, as everyone is.”

Keegan has started the last two games under Darren Ferguson – both of which have been victories – and is looking for recompense after a long injury lay off.

“It’s a big game,” he said.

“Obviously the FA Cup, everyone loves to play in it so with Stoke coming here and a big crowd, it’s a game for us to go out and show people what we can do – the people who might not come to watch us or only see the highlights on TV.

“It’s a great game for us and the club and you never know what can happen in the Cup.”
