Super Surprise for Supporter

1 July 2016

Lifelong Rovers fan Les Lightfoot delighted to be visited by Club Doncaster players.

Club Doncaster were able to put a smile on the face of one of arguably their biggest fans Les Lightfoot, when five players surprised him by visiting his care home.

Rovers and Dons fan Les – who has been a supporter for over 45 years – was surprised by the arrival of Andy Butler, Andy Williams and James Coppinger (Rovers) and Jordie Hedges and Connor Scott (Dons) who took time out of their pre-season and mid-season schedule to go and see Les and present him with his season ticket book, a scarf, a signed Rovers shirt and a signed Dons shirt as gifts from the club.

Only two years ago Les suffered a second stroke which has left him unable to speak and in a wheelchair, however due to the support of the carers at Woodlea Care Home (Bessacarr) and his new season ticket, he will be close to his family who attend and will be able to watch every home game in EFL Sky Bet League Two and support Doncaster Rovers.

The boys were in awe when they entered seventy-six year old Les' bedroom to see it fully decorated in red and white memorabilia from years gone by. Les also praised James Coppinger’s loyalty to the club and Andy Butler’s representation of his home town.
