Introducing the octuplet signed by Rovers to raise the bar and aim for promotion.

Doncaster Rovers and manager Darren Ferguson have been busier than ever this summer with player recruitment.

In an effort to return to League One at the first time of asking, Ferguson has successfully landed many of his intended targets to help the Rovers promotion push.

So far, we have welcomed EIGHT new arrivals to Keepmoat Stadium in just six hectic weeks. Here is a brief overview of each of the new players who will be sporting the red and white hoops by the time we kick off the new Football League season in August!

Name: Tommy Rowe
Age: 27
Position: Midfielder
Signed: 18/05/16
The jewel in Rovers’ crown, Rowe opted for a reunion with former Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson instead of potential suitors in higher leagues. Formerly of Wolves, the 27 year old had a bittersweet loan experience at Keepmoat Stadium last season with his impressive performances unable to prevent relegation but he’ll be hoping he can spark Rovers in to a promotion push.

Name: Matty Blair
Age: 27
Position: Midfielder
Signed: 24/05/16
Winger has played in League Two for six different sides, but has also previously scored against six of next season’s opponents – including 5 in one season v Grimsby. In total, has scored 13 goals in 111 League Two appearances and has won promotion with both York City and Fleetwood Town.

Name: Ross Etheridge
Age: 21
Position: Goalkeeper
Signed: 25/05/16
Youngster Etheridge impressed for Accrington Stanley last term with 10 clean sheets in 23 starts in League Two as the Lancashire side just missed out on promotion. Stanley had the best defence on the road in the 15/16 season though and that was enough to convince Rovers to secure his services.

Name: Mathieu Baudry
Age: 28
Position: Defender
Signed: 27/05/16
Baudry swapped the glamour of the London lifestyle for the grit of South Yorkshire upon signing for Rovers from Leyton Orient in the close season. The 28 year old is one of the divisions most assured defenders. The Frenchman made his League Two debut for Dagenham & Redbridge in March 2012 and has made 41 appearances in the 4th tier since – with only 17 of those coming outside London!

Name: Joe Wright
Age: 21
Position: Defender
Signed: 01/06/16
Local lad Wright joined from fellow Yorkshire side Huddersfield Town. A commanding centre back by trade, Wright spent time on loan at Accrington last season where he made 22 appearances in the same side as Etheridge.

Name: Gary McSheffrey
Age: 33
Position: Forward
Signed: 06/06/16
Former Coventry starlet once moved to Birmingham City for £4M and rediscovered his Midas touch in a loan spell from Scunthorpe United last season which he has now made permanent. The likeable veteran, who has over 500 career appearances and 120 goals to his name, said he had little hesitation in making the move to Keepmoat Stadium!

Name: John Marquis
Age: 24
Position: Forward
Signed: 13/06/16
Came through the ranks at his local side Millwall, Marquis was on loan at Northampton Town last term where he helped the Cobblers to the League Two title. A real grafter up top, the 24 year old is looking to nail down a regular starting spot.

Name: Tyler Garratt
Age: 19
Position: Defender
Signed: 28/06/16
Teenage full back made his Football League debut at the back end of last season for Bolton Wanderers from who he has joined on a three year contract.
