Predominantly white with a striking black ‘V’ across the chest, this particular Rovers away kit could not have got off to a better start when Dean Saunders’ side romped to a 3-0 win on the opening day with David Cotterill and Kyle Bennett both providing contenders for goal of the season!

In a campaign which saw Rovers only lose four games on the road, they recorded an astonishing 12 game run without defeat from September – February.

In fact, they acquired 49 of their 84 points away from home and showed their Champions credentials with regular late goals in critical wins; few more important than the assured finish that James Husband (above) produced in a top of the table encounter against Bournemouth at Dean Court.

A backs to the wall display saw Rovers go ahead through Billy Paynter. Though Matt Tubbs restored parity late on, there was still time for the young left back to poach a winner.
