PREVIEW: DRFC v Posh

18 March 2016

Saturday 19th March 2016 (3pm), Sky Bet League One, Keepmoat Stadium.

Doncaster Rovers welcome Peterborough United to Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday as their battle to stay in the third tier intensifies.

The hosts – without a home win since mid-December – will hope to avoid the 4-0 rout that the Posh inflicted upon them at London Road in the reverse fixture.

Though Rovers manager Darren Ferguson presided over more than 350 games while in charge of the Posh, he knows he will get few favours from his former club who need – in all likelihood – just one win to guarantee their survival.

The Yorkshire side cannot hide from their recent run which has seen them without a win in eleven games and stay out of the relegation zone on goal difference only. Rovers’ latest result was a disappointing 2-1 loss to Bradford City in which Nathan Tyson – with his 90th minute consolation – became the first player to notch for Ferguson’s side in over four games.

Both sides are dead level when it comes to games league in Doncaster with seven wins apiece and only three draws. Posh drew level with Rovers’ tally thanks to a 2-0 win at the Keepmoat last season in which Luke James and Connor Washington bagged.

Washington was again on hand in the reverse this season as he applied the finishing touches on the aforementioned 4-0 rout after Gabriel Zakuani, Erhun Oztumer and Anthony Elder had all registered.
TEAM NEWS: Captain James Coppinger (ankle) could return after a lengthy lay off while defenders Craig Alcock and Mitchell Lund will come back in to contention after missing the Bantams trip.
