'Forever Rowe-vers'

18 May 2016

Darren Ferguson has made his first signing of the summer and secured popular midfielder Tommy Rowe on a three year deal.

Having signed on loan from Championship side Wolves last season, Rowe is certainly no stranger to Doncaster and has been a very popular feature with both the fans and Darren Ferguson.

He scored three times in his short loan spell for Rovers and very quickly became a fan favourite at the Keepmoat.

Highly rated by Darren Ferguson, Tommy Rowe first played under Ferguson when he was just 19 years old and since then has played nearly 200 games under the Rovers manager.

“I first signed for Peterborough when I was 19 years old and I really enjoy working under him [Darren Ferguson],” said Rowe.

“When I first signed for Peterborough his words to me were ‘look where you are now, I will definitely develop you into a better player’. It’s important for any player to know that the manager is going to develop you and that’s what he does well."

Rowe stated before the season ended how much he had enjoyed his time at Rovers and playing under Darren Ferguson again.

“I've played under Darren for quite a long time, we work very well together on and off the field and I understand how he wants us to play.

“When I first signed on loan my aim was to come here and do well, impress the fans and learn again as a player. I really enjoyed my time and I’ve signed permanently because of the ambition this club has.”

Everyone at Doncaster Rovers would like to welcome Tommy to the club.
