Huge number of applications for summer NCS!Following the extremely successful Easter National Citizen Service programme run by the Club Doncaster Foundation a record number of young people have applied to take part in this summer’s programme.
This summer’s NCS in Doncaster will see over 500 young adults aged 15-17 complete the programme, making the Club Doncaster Foundation’s series the most popular edition in the whole of Yorkshire!
NCS takes place over a three week period. In week one participants head to either the Lake District or Peak District taking part in a series of adrenaline and once in a lifetime activities. Week two will see participants head to the Doncaster Deaf Trust for five days of skills building and key life skills with exhibitions from the emergency services throughout the area. In the final week the young people on the course will complete a social action project to help improve the region and local area.
Speaking about the programme, NCS co-ordinator Jan Budtz said: “We have been overwhelmed by the phenomenal demand for places on our programme for this summer.
“This is by far our most popular year to date and it is great to see that all of the hard work put into the programme over previous years is now being rewarded.
“NCS is a fantastic opportunity for young people, where friends are made for life and you learn key life skills which are hugely beneficial when looking for future employment.
“Participants also get to take part in some fantastic activities, so don’t miss out!”
