Rovers Bring in Baudry

27 May 2016

Frenchman pens deal at Keepmoat Stadium.

Defender Mathieu Baudry has today become Doncaster Rovers 4th signing of the summer, joining on a 2 year deal from Leyton Orient.

Having already acquired the services of Tommy Rowe, Matty Blair and Ross Etheridge, first team manager Darren Ferguson has acted swiftly to bolster his defensive options.

Ferguson said: “He’s a very good centre half who can play in a back two or three. He’s aggressive in the way he plays as well as being very good on the ball.

“He has lots of experience and knows the league very well. He was outstanding when he played for Leyton Orient in League One and got to the play offs, so I know he can play at a high level.

“He is going to be a real key player for us and was one of my top targets. It’s taken a while but we’ve managed to get this done and I’m delighted.

“He understands what I’m about and how I want to play which suits him and I’m really looking forward to working with him. He’s a brilliant signing for the football club.”

Centre-back Baudry, 28, was captain of EFL2 side Leyton Orient last term but rejected the chance to extend his stay in east-London.

The former Bournemouth man scored 10 goals in 157 appearances for the O's after leaving Dean Court in the summer of 2012.

You can see Baudry in action for Rovers next season with a 2016/17 season ticket.  Existing supporters have until 31st May to retain their current seats. To secure yours today call the Club Doncaster Box Office on 01302 764 576 or click the banner below:
