Varsity Cup Success

17 May 2016

Club Doncaster Foundation showcase themselves in positive light both on and off the pitch.

Club Doncaster Sports College welcomed education partners Selby College to Keepmoat Stadium recently in the first ever Varsity football game between the two teams.
The main purpose of the game – which the hosts won 5-2 – was to promote and celebrate the partnership and highlight the courses Club Doncaster Sports College offers.
Adi Turnpenny, Principal at Club Doncaster Foundation, said: “The event was a huge success with our partners at Selby College enjoying a great day with us.
“There was lots of social media promotion  - including the game being broadcast live via the official Doncaster Rovers YouTube channel, with Deputy Principal Ben Thompson commentating – and the students themselves had a great day.
“Tim Ryan did a fantastic job of organising the game, as did Nick Gillott whose ‘Doncaster Mencap’ group provided food for parents of the players.
“Finally we’d also like to thank local company Carillion who were hiring the Jibba Jabba restaurant and voluntarily raised £163 to the Ethan Hedley fund having seen the match was on.”
