Retro Rovers looking to conquer local region!
Following on from the successful Walking Football game which recently took place between fans of Doncaster Rovers and Burton Albion, ‘Retro Rovers’ are back in action.
Retro Rovers, who incidentally defeated their Burton counterparts 10-7 in glorious weather, return on Saturday (14th May) at the Club Doncaster Academy.
They will be representing Doncaster Rovers in the Yorkshire National Football League Trust competition where we will be facing teams such as Rotherham, Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday with all the action getting underway at 1pm.
Community Coordinator Andrew Sheldrake, who insists “sporting spirit continues to grow within the network of the game,” has encouraged people to attend.
“Why not get down and support the boys and get your Saturday football albeit in a slower version?!” he said.
