Rovers manager Darren Ferguson is pleased to have players returning ahead of a busy period.

Frazer Richardson and Craig Alcock have both featured in the cup games against Oldham Athletic and Port Vale, meaning Ferguson now has plenty of options at the back,

Andy Butler is also available after the back injury suffered at Oldham last weekend turned out to be minor.

Ferguson said:  “We have 11 games in eight weeks, with November and December very busy months, so we need bodies at a critical part of the season.

“These next couple of months are important in terms of consistency and keeping n touch with the top two. It is great to have those two back because they bring quality and experience. It gives me options because I can either put them in, or they put pressure on the ones who do start.

“I know in my own mind what I’m going to do on Saturday but it certainly makes it a tougher decision for me. “I’ve just got to be absolutely certain that Alcock and Richardson can do three games in a week. That’s something I need to give a lot of thought.”

Exeter City have yet to win a home game in Sky Bet League Two this season, but Ferguson expects a tough game on the south coast.

He added: “Their results are better away from home, but their last league game was a 3-0 win. They’ve played a variety of formations and are quite flexible.

"They’ve got strengths and an experienced manager, the focus is on where we can hurt them but we are mindful they’ve got strengths.”
