Saturday 22nd October 2016 (3pm), Sky Bet League Two, Bloomfield Road.
Rovers head to the Fylde coast looking for their fourth straight win in the league as they aim to strengthen their grip on the League Two automatic promotion places.
Having gone ten games unbeaten at Keepmoat Stadium, Rovers now boast the best home record in the Football League this season and will look to transfer that terrific form to the road.
The omens for Darren Ferguson’s side look mixed against the 17th placed Tangerines with just two wins against the Lancashire club in the last 15 meetings. However, both of those wins were at Bloomfield Road and still our only wins there to date.
Last term, goals from Aaron Taylor-Sinclair and Andy Williams sank Pool before they got their revenge with a 1-0 win in the return on Easter Monday; though both sides were ultimately destined for relegation.
Saturday will be the third time in which the sides will have met in three different divisions in just four seasons, having met in the Championship in 13/14.
TEAM NEWS: Andy Williams (ankle) will be out for at least eight weeks. The game looks likely to come too early for Craig Alcock or Frazer Richardson while Tommy Rowe will shake off a slight calf niggle.
