Captain James Coppinger says the Rovers players are determined to clinch the Sky Bet League Two title.
They lead second-placed Plymouth Argyle by two points with as many games to go, knowing top spot could be secured as early as next Saturday if Exeter City are beaten at the Keepmoat Stadium and the Pilgrims drop points.
Rovers missed the chance to extend their lead when beaten 2-1 at play-off-chasing Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday, but Coppinger says the players will be ready for the final two games.
He said: “With two games left we’ve got to understand where we are, what we have achieved and what we can achieve.
“We are two points ahead with two games to go, and could win the league on Saturday – we’ve had a fantastic season, and hopefully we can celebrate soon enough.”
Coppinger returned to the starting line-up at Adams Park after recovering from a long-standing ankle problem. He assured fans he will be ready for the two remaining games of the season.
He added: “This season I managed it really well with the manager, but with a few games to go started feeling it.
“A little bit of rest has helped it. It’s frustrating because I can play on it, but not do what I want to do. I’m definitely fine to get through these final two games, though, so long as the manager wants me to play a part.”
