Foundation Friday 7/4/17

7 April 2017

Two Club Doncaster Foundation partner schools enjoyed the exclusive chance to tour the Keepmoat Stadium as part of their schools package.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Primary and West Road Primary were taken on a tour of the facilities, experiencing the first team changing rooms, dug out, press area and everything in between.

They then got in the Easter spirit and had the chance to explore the stands for treats on an ‘eggciting’ Easter Egg hunt!

Delighted with the visit, teacher Tom Rich commented: “It was fantastic, the whole day was very well managed and the children loved the experience.”

“It was amazing to get to see the facilities up close and even better that the players took time out of their busy schedules to spend so much time having photos, doing autographs and entertaining the children; it meant so much to them.”

The day was wonderfully rounded up with each child receiving two complimentary tickets for the Blackpool game and a surprise visit from Doncaster Rovers first team players, Alfie Beestin, Joe Wright and Mitchell Lund.

The trio were on hand for photos and autographs as well as answering any burning questions. The players also showed off their skills as they challenged the children to a Kick Up competition!

The ‘stadium experience’ at the Keepmoat is part of the exclusive schools programme offered by Club Doncaster Foundation.

Schools coordinator, Kelly Jackson said: “It’s fantastic to see the players so involved and engaging with the children, it really is the cherry on top of a great day.”

“The smiles on their faces is what it’s all about and the stadium experience is a great day for all involved.”
