Conor Grant will use Rovers’ first-half showing at Colchester as motivation to ensure the club seal the title in style.
Rovers were second-best in the opening 45 minutes at the Weston Homes Stadium, although a strong second-half display left them frustrated at not getting all three points.
Grant revealed he and his team-mates were disappointed at the opening 45 minutes.
He said: "The first half was frustrating, we know we weren’t up to our usual standards, but we responded well.
“We improved massively in the second half, and on another day we could have won by two or three.”
Rovers still have the title in their sights and need just six points from their final four games to ensure they finish the season as the best team in Sky Bet League Two.
Grant added: “The first half wasn’t us, we were second best and we don’t like that.
“These things happen in football, but it is up to us to make sure it doesn’t happen again for a long time.”
