Young Rovers fans got a surprise as the club officially opened Donny Dog’s Kennel on Saturday.
Donny Dog’s Kennel boasts interactive visuals across the back wall including a black board for drawing and colouring. Also on the inside little ones can enjoy arts, crafts and puzzles supported by staff from the club’s on site nursery Stadium Stars. On the exterior Donny has attached a mail box for junior fans to write personalised messages with express delivery to Rovers' first team players.
A popular section of Donny Dog’s Kennel is the GAME zone, where young fans can compete amongst themselves and against the senior squad on EA Sports’ FIFA 17, available across four different consoles. GAME staff members, from the Frenchgate shopping centre, were on hand to run competitions and support fans with their gaming needs.
Elliott Smith, Donny Dog squad member said, "I love Donny Dog's Kennel, it gives me more things to do with my mum before the game - I get to beat her at FIFA, its great"
Katie Palmer, Family Stand Silver Membership holder added, "Donny Dog's Kennel is another fantastic idea from Doncaster Rovers, it certainly shows why we are winning the Family Excellence Award year after year"
Mark Hughesman, Club Doncaster marketing manager said, “As a club we are driven towards offering a great experience for the whole family. Donny Dog’s Kennel has been an idea in which we have developed over many months and it was with great pride that we could officially open it to all our junior fans at the first game.
“As a club we are driven towards offering junior fans the best experience possible and we believe the new activities offered in Donny Dog’s Kennel match the club’s vision.”
