Darren Ferguson does not plan to make many changes to his team for Tuesday’s Carabao Cup first round trip to Bradford City.
Rovers opened the 2017/18 season with a draw at home to Gillingham on Saturday, and it is too early in the season for Ferguson to contemplate much squad rotation.
He said: “It’s another game we want to win, at this stage of the season player needs games as teams are not up to full fitness until the later part of the month.
“We will take a good number of fans with it being local and it is a game I am looking forward to, it should be a good game. I’ll play what I feel is my strongest team and one, which once I’ve had a good look at Bradford, I feel can progress to the next round.”
Ferguson handed debuts to three players on Saturday, with Danny Andrew and Ben Whiteman starting the match and Rodney Kongolo coming off the bench.
He added: “I thought they were good. Danny Andrew gives us something we missed last season, as well as real quality from set-pieces and a long throw.
“Ben can play in a variety of positions, he is so good at passing the ball and nearly scored. For debut games they were both very good.
“And he’s a big lad who will put his foot in, he likes a tackle as does Rodney Kongolo. I feel we are a lot stronger in that area now.”
