Rowe takes positives

20 August 2017

Midfielder Tommy Rowe wants Rovers to take the positives from the 3-3 draw with Blackpool at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Goals from John Marquis, Alfie May and Rowe was not enough for Rovers to take all three points, but Rowe insists their hard work will be rewarded in future games.

“There were a lot of positives to take from the first half, we stuck to our gameplan and the goal was an example of what we have been working all week on in training,” he said.

“We have been working a lot on moving the ball across, getting shots off and I was delighted to see that pay off - and hopefully we can keep that going in future games.

“It’s two points dropped for us the Gillingham game was the, same and in all four games we have played this season we have been on top and you want to be rewarded for that.”

Rovers face Hull City before a trip to the Cherry Red Records Stadium to face AFC Wimbledon in Sky Bet League One and Rowe is targeting a league win against the Dons to carry on the side’s unbeaten start to the season.

“It is early doors, if we win next week we are in good form and have two points a game in the opening month, we want to be there or there about after the first 10-12 games,” he added.

“I think we can be positive about how we have approached games so far, it is a step up or us being in the division above what we played in last season.

“It is only a matter of time before the ball falls for us quite nicely and we win the game, 4-3 would have been a quite nice result for us.”

Tickets are still available for Tuesday's game against Hull City in the second round of the Carabao Cup from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762 576, or by going to tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
