Doncaster Rovers’ Academy head Kieran Scarff says the youth team have plenty to look forward to as they open their season on Saturday.
Rovers’ youngsters host Grimsby Town at Cantley Park on Saturday morning (KO 11am), in a match which is open to fans.
Scarff said: “We have had a very positive pre-season. Our youth team have had a variety of experiences in terms of games and have given some very pleasing performances.
“It was great to see Reece Fielding, Louis Jones, Tyler Walker, Jacob Fletcher, Keegan Townrow and Lewis Scattergood playing at Chesterfield in the first team on Saturday. They gave a very good account of themselves and it provides further evidence of the pathway and opportunities for our young players.
“The youth team started their league campaign this morning at home to Grimsby Town. As always we would love to see supporters coming down to watch games. The support we receive is much appreciated.”
