Foodbank launch a big success

6 December 2017

The first DRFC4Foodbanks collection held at a Rovers match saw plenty of donations.

Supporters of Rovers and Scunthorpe United attending Sunday’s FA Cup second round tie at the Keepmoat Stadium also donated almost £50 in cash in addition to the bags of food for those in need.

Rovers fan Martin O’Hara, one of the event’s organisers, said: “It was great to see so many people from both sets of fans donating and raising money for such a good cause.

“All the money and food that was collected before the game will be used to help those less fortunate at such a family orientated time of year.”

The food collection point was positioned outside the Rovers Square, between Belle Vue Bar and the Club Doncaster Shop where it will be in the two hours up to kick-off on Rovers matchdays.
