Andy Butler felt Rovers missed a good opportunity to take three points after drawing 1-1 with Oldham Athletic at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Butler’s second half opener was cancelled out by Eoin Doyle’s late leveller, which meant Rovers had to settle for a point in Sky Bet League One.
He said: “There is a feeling of disappointment more than anything for the team, it’s another late goal which has gone against us and we have to put a stop to that because it’s costing us points.
“I think we played well up until a certain point in the game when we scored, after that we panicked a little bit and lacked composure.
“They threw a lot of bodies forward and took a lot of risks late on and that’s when we had to step it up and control the game a bit more.”
After leading for the majority of the second half, the defender is keen for Rovers to keep on doing the right things on the pitch ahead of a trip to Bristol Rovers next weekend.
“We’ve given everything to try and win the game but things aren’t going our way at this moment in time, whether it be late goals or individual errors,” he added.
“We’ll work hard on the training ground to rectify our mistakes because the last two performances have been good, we just haven’t been smart enough to pick up a win.
“We’ve got a big few games coming up against teams around us and that is where we need to be taking maximum points if we can.”
