Toffolo frustrated by injury

22 December 2017

Harry Toffolo is gutted that a broken foot has ended his loan spell at Rovers early.

The defender suffered the injury, which looks set to keep him out until mid January, while making  a block in the Sky Bet League One clash at Oxford.

He said: “I’m gutted, I had a good run in the side and it is really frustrating - but if I had not made the block then we could well have conceded.

“If the ball is there to be win I have to put my foot in, it’s just disappointing to miss such a busy period.”

The left-back’s loan from Norwich City runs out at the beginning of January, but he would be open to extending his stay at the Keepmoat Stadium until the end of the season.

He added: “I have really enjoyed my time here and learnt a lot from all the staff, so I’d be happy to stay here. Progression is the important thing for me at this stage in my career.

“Obviously with the injury now it is down to the two clubs to come to an agreement that suits everyone.”

Rovers are back in action at the Keepmoat Stadium when they host Northampton Town. Get your tickets now by calling 01302 762576 or going to tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
