Cody Prior feels he has really developed this season after contributing with a key goal in the youth team’s 3-1 win at Burton Albion on Saturday.
The 18-year-old put Rovers ahead at St George’s Park, a goal which sparked a flurry of quickfire strikes in a 3-1 victory, which he felt was reward for a more attacking approach the winger has adopted.
He said: “I am really starting to improve my output towards creating and
scoring more goals as well.
“It was a really good performance from the lads, we dominated the whole game. “
It has been a breakthrough year for Prior, with two senior appearances off the bench in the Checkatrade Trophy and the chance to wear the captain’s armband for the Development side.
He added: “I’ve been on the bench five times and made two appearances which has been really good experience for me as well to be involved with the under-23s.
“Captaining that side as well with a lot of senior players to help you out makes it a good experience for all us younger players.”
