No panic for Alcock

28 February 2017

Defender Craig Alcock assured fans that is no need to panic as Rovers head to Cambridge United on Tuesday looking to get back to winning ways.

Alcock has made it clear that the side are aiming to turn recent draws into wins in the remaining 13 games of the season.

He said: “There is no need to panic, we are top of the league, we just have to keep going because the end prize is massive.

“Teams have not made any ground up on us and, hopefully, against Cambridge we can go out there and put it right and put the draws into wins.

“You can either see this as we haven’t won in five or you can see it as we have only lost two in 20.”

Rovers travel to the Cambs Glass Stadium hoping to gain three valuable points as Darren Ferguson’s men continue their hunt for promotion

And Alcock is expecting a tough game against Shaun Derry’s men. He said: “Cambridge are a good team and they are going to be up for it against the top of the league side.

“We have to make sure that we match them all over the pitch, and when we get the chance to get our creative players on the ball we take that chance.

“If it’s a clean sheet and a 1-0 win, I think everyone would be happy. As long as we get the three points that’s all that matters.”
