Calder and Richardson depart

3 January 2017

Riccardo Calder has returned to parent club Aston Villa and Frazer Richardson has also left the club.

Calder, who has been on loan at the Keepmoat Stadium from Aston Villa on two separate occasions, has made a combined total of 32 first team appearances under manager Darren Ferguson.

The 20-year-old scored his first goal for Rovers this season, netting the second goal in a 2-0 win over Mansfield Town in the group stage of the Checkatrade Trophy.

Defender Richardson also departs the club after his short-term deal expired at the end of December. He made six appearances for Rovers.

Ferguson said:  “I’d like to thank Riccardo and Frazer for their contributions to the club. Both have fantastic attitudes and have contributed to getting us where we are now.”

Richardson is currently injured and will continue his rehabilitation with the club. We wish both players the best of luck in the future.
