May working hard

4 July 2017

Alfie May has enjoyed pushing himself in his first pre-season as a professional footballer.

The forward completed a move from non-league Hythe Town in January.

He said: “It’s different for me, because in non-league you do Tuesday and Thursday nights so don’t get as much as at full-time clubs.

“And we work a lot harder, I’ve done some drills I’ve never done before and it’s all going to help.”

Alfie adapted quickly to life in the professional game after his switch to South Yorkshire, and he is confident he will be in even better shape after having a first full-time pre-season under his belt.

He added: “Games come thick and fast during the season, and the fitter you are the better chance you have of getting through it.

“I’ve loved every minute at Rovers and cannot wait to repay the club and fans with some goals once the season gets going properly.”
