Rovers at Doncaster market

26 July 2017

Players and staff support Doncaster market as the 2017/18 season approaches.

First team players will be put through their paces this Friday, but there’s not a ball in sight as Rovers lend a hand on Doncaster market trader’s stalls, selling fresh produce from flowers to fruit and vegetables.

Rovers’ players are to be accompanied by the club’s staff and the Club Doncaster Foundation as they aim to support one of the town’s longest serving establishments. You will be able to catch a glimpse of your favourite players on Friday between 1:30pm and 2:30pm.

Head of Visit Doncaster Chris Dungworth said: “This is the coming together of two great Doncaster institutions – the Rovers and the market. Both have a rich heritage and both are synonymous with Doncaster.

“As the market undergoes development and sees investment, the same is true of the newly promoted Rovers. What a great time to bring these two great teams together to support each other and get the town behind them.”

Joining around 20 squad players will be Donny Dog and a host of activities in the Market Square including ball skills and penalty shoot-out competitions all ran by the Club Doncaster Foundation.

The event will take place on Friday July 29 from 1:30pm – 2:30pm in Doncaster market.
