Pitch renovation

8 June 2017

Work has begun resurfacing the Keepmoat Stadium pitch ahead of the 2017/18 season.

The top layer of the pitch was removed across Monday and Tuesday, leaving just the artificial Desso fibres, allowing renovation work to be undertaken by the ground staff.

The pitch was then given a new sand base layer, reseeded and spiked so it is in pristine condition for the first pre-season friendly against Derby County on Tuesday July 18.

Head groundsman James Davison said: “We received a lot of compliments for our pitch last season, and people can’t quite believe how good it looked given Rovers, the Dons and the Belles all play first-team fixtures on it.

“But the reason the pitch can cope with the amount of games is because of the hard work put in at this time of the year preparing it.”

The cheapest way of watching Rovers on the resurfaced pitch as they tackle Sky Bet League One in 2017/18 is via a Season Membership. Get yours now by coming down to the Club Doncaster Box Office, calling 01302 762576 or going to tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
