The Club Doncaster ground staff have been highly commended in the EFL Grounds Team of the Season award.
The awards are based on feedback from visiting managers and referees who provide a score, before an inspection by the Sports Turf Research Institute.
The Keepmoat Stadium pitch is one of the busiest in the EFL, as it also hosts first-team games for Doncaster Rovers Belles in the WSL and Doncaster RLFC in Kingstone Press League One.
Head groundsman Jim Davison said: “It is pleasing to be recognised for a pitch which we are all immensely proud of.
“It is a real team effort, though, and I must pay tribute to the hours put in by my staff to ensure the surface is always in a good condition come match day.”
Jim’s team consists of Jonathan Banner, Elliott Bashford, Jake Davis, Jake Marshall, Mark Crompton, Andy Cartwright, and Tom Linley, while club chaplain Barry Miller is also a regular volunteer member of the team.
Carlisle United’s staff won the Grounds Team of the Season prize for Sky Bet League Two, with Portsmouth and Plymouth Argyle’s team joining the Club Doncaster team in being highly commended.
