Matty Blair has signed a contract extension keeping him at Rovers until the summer of 2019.
The 27-year-old has been a key part of the promotion-winning team this season, and securing his services is a sign of the club’s long-term planning.
He said: “It’s great to get it done early as I’ve a baby on the way in the summer, so I know where I am. There’s a great feeling at the club and I’m delighted to know I am staying.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my season so far, I have given everything I can to the club and feel I have had everything in return - not just from the gaffer and players, but from the fans and staff too. I’m very happy at the club."
Matty was named Rovers’ PFA Community Champion for 16/17 in recognition of the time he gives up around the club, assisting the Club Doncaster Foundation and other projects in the area.
He added: “I enjoy doing them. it gets me out and seeing a different part of football.
“If people think I can help then who am I to say no? But the award just tops off something I enjoy doing anyway and I’ll continue to do it next season.”
