Matty Blair has thanked the club for the patience and support he received when taking time off after the death of his brother Ross.
Blair recently took some time out from the side to be with his family, and he said that he was grateful for everything the club has done for him since.
“It was one of the hardest moments of my life, but it got to a point where it got too much, and I was struggling to cope with the emotions of losing him and then the emotions of football,” Blair said.
“The gaffer noticed that straight away and said that I needed some time off, and that was the best thing that could’ve happened to me and my wife and son especially.
“I can’t speak highly enough of the gaffer and I’ve said to the lads numerous times about how much their support means to me, and not just the lads too its everyone around the club that have helped me through a difficult period.”
After his break away from football, Blair is now back in the side and he hopes that he can help get a good run going once again, starting with Saturday’s visit of MK Dons.
“We’re coming off the back of a defeat and we need a good performance, it’ll be as big a game for us as it is for them,” he said.
“We’re creating a lot of chances and anyone that watches us will know that, and once those goals come, the results will start coming too, that’s just the way football is, and the lads are confident that will come.
“We all know where we want to be in the table and that is much higher up, MK Dons are a good side, but we will be going all out for the win that’s for sure.”
