Darren Ferguson felt his Rovers side put on a display supporters could be proud of in the South Yorkshire derby with Rotherham United.
Rovers had to settle for a point after the Millers levelled in the sixth minute of time added on, but Ferguson felt his side had played well.
He said: “I was encouraged by the performance of my team and the determination showed to try and win a derby match.
“I thought the performance as a whole was a good one, but the lads are gutted as it was a real body blow to concede when we did. We looked a real threat counter attacking them, but we were unlucky with the goal we conceded and can feel unfortunate not to have won the game.”
With well over 12,000 in the stadium, Ferguson felt the home supporters really helped the home side.
He added: “In terms of atmosphere it was probably the best while I’ve been here. The fans were outstanding and really spurred us on - especially when we were 1-0 up.
“We’ve got a little bit of momentum at the moment, we can go into the next few games with real confidence.”
