Ferguson wants lesson to be learnt

22 November 2017

Darren Ferguson says his Rovers side must learn their lesson after being beaten 3-0 at Wigan Athletic in Sky Bet League One.

A double from Ryan Colclough after Michael Jacobs’ opener earned the Latics the win and Ferguson felt his side didn’t perform well enough to take anything from the game.

“It was disappointing as we’ve failed to score again having had a great chance to equalise just before half time,” he said.

“We didn’t get on the ball enough in the first half and I’m unhappy with the goals we give away as we gave ourselves too much to do.

“We started the second half quite well and created a couple of half chances, but once they got the third it was a case of us making sure we didn’t concede again.”

Rovers go up against MK Dons in Sky Bet League One this weekend and Ferguson is expecting to see a response from the players as they return to the Keepmoat Stadium.

“We’ve got to put the chances away when we get them, when we get chances like we’ve had in recent games they need to be going in,” he added.

“We have to move on quickly as we have another tough game to round off the week, the team know that we have to do better.

“I will look at personnel within the squad and look at any changes I may have to make ahead of the weekend, we need to move on from this quickly.”

Rovers return to the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday November 25 to face MK Dons, get your tickets now from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
