Houghton wary of Ebbsfleet threat

3 November 2017

Jordan Houghton is looking forward to this weekend’s trip to face Ebbsfleet United in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Houghton was a part of the Chelsea U18 side that won the FA Youth Cup in 2014, but has only made one appearance in the senior competition in the early stages of his career.

Houghton said: “The FA Cup always springs up some shocks and we have to make sure that we aren’t on the wrong end of that.

“We have to be wary of Ebbsfleet because they have a lot of good players that have come from academy level at professional sides.

“The pressure is on us, they are the underdogs, but we are going to go there and deal with the job in hand which is to win the game.”

After getting to the third round of the Carabao Cup this season, Houghton is looking for another cup run to ignite Rovers' campaign.

“We’re still searching for that consistency this season, but we’re starting to put a few results together after a good week for us so far,” he added.

“I’ve been getting quite a few 90 minutes under my belt in the past few weeks so I’m feeling good.

“I think if we can get back-to-back wins then we will go on a run, if we can get the win against Ebbsfleet on Saturday then we go into the Rotherham game full of confidence.”
