Paul Stancliffe praised his side’s resilience, which he believes meant they deserved their 2-1 win against Rochdale in the EFL Youth Cup.
James Morris opened the scoring in the second half after a quick free-kick was taken by Matthew Overton.
Rovers were eventually pegged back in the 84th minute by James Neild, but Keegan Townrow’s late header won the game.
Stancliffe said: “I’m happy with the win and I’m happy for the team, we worked ever so hard.
“We started off well in the first half, but got a bit bogged down. Rochdale are a good team, but we did well to keep going until the end.
“I think it would’ve been a shame if we didn’t get the win in the end because overall I thought we deserved it.”
