Selby High win EFL Girls Cup

26 November 2017

More than 50 girls from school teams across the Doncaster Borough competed at the Keepmoat Stadium in the EFL Girls Cup 2017.

Battling in tough, windy conditions, the girls showed some tremendous determination and skill at the home of Doncaster Rovers.

Deserved winners of the tournament, Selby High now get the chance to represent Rovers as they progress into the regional finals, which will take place in the new year.

Women  and girls football co-ordinator Heather King said: “So much hard work and planning goes into an event like this,so it’s always fantastic to see it come off so well and see the girls enjoy it  so much.

“Despite the weather, there was some fantastic football on show and everyone who came and took part should be very proud of themselves.”
