West Ham incentive for Townrow

13 November 2017

Keegan Townrow says the possibility of taking on West Ham United is all the motivation he needs in Tuesday’s FA Youth Cup second round clash with Blackpool.

The tie will take place at the Keepmoat Stadium on Tuesday evening, with the winner heading to take on the young Hammers in the third round.

Townrow said: “We’re definitely hoping for a good performance because if we beat Blackpool then we’re at West Ham away in the next round which will be a great experience.”

The defender scored an equalising goal in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with local rivals Rotherham United, meaning he is full of confidence before taking on the Seasiders.

He added: “They didn’t come too often last year but I’ve now got two in as many games

“It was a good result. We had a lot of the under 16s helping us out, so it was a young team against a strong team from Rotherham and I thought they did well.”

Rovers’ youth team are back in action at the Keepmoat Stadium on Tuesday when they host Blackpool in the FA Youth Cup. The match kicks off at 7pm, with tickets just £3 or £1 for concessions and Season Members.

Tickets can be purchased from the Club Doncaster Box Office now on 01302 762576 or by going to tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk. There will be free car parking for spectators on the night.
