Marosi ready to take chance

30 October 2017

Marko Marosi says there is a positive mood within the Rovers camp ahead of the Checkatrade Trophy tie against Scunthorpe United.

Marosi has played in both games in the competition this season after having to wait for his chance due to the good form of current No.1 Ian Lawlor.

“Obviously I would have liked to have played a bit more games but Lawsy has done really well this season he’s been playing really good,” he said.

“I’m going to try my best to get into the team, but like I’ve said before Ian has been brilliant for us this season so far, so I can’t really complain.

“We’re feeling really positive after the win against Bury, it was a really good win for us. We played really well in difficult conditions.”

The 24-year-old is looking forward to seeing how some of the younger players perform against Scunthorpe, after watching the U18s side progress in the FA Youth Cup with a 4-3 win over Walsall.

“The first team lads went to the game and we were really impressed with the performance, they gave it everything,” he added.

“They battled back from being behind which says a lot about their character, you could see they had a good team spirit and fought for each other.

“They’ve been really good, the likes of Danny Amos, Morgan James and Jacob Fletcher have been brilliant and they fully deserve a chance.”
